Hi, I am Pius Kobler, one of the four students working in the project as project oriented major studies.

All my life I have been constructing airplanes, boats, cars and lot more in the small workshop of my father (a social worker!). In school I liked Mechanics and Physics the most. This is why I decided very early to make my hobby profession and study mechanical engineering. The enthusiasm for this profession gave me the motivation to overcome the two first hard years at ETH.

As I am more a practical than a theoretical worker I realized that project oriented studies are ideal for me. With the lightweight construction of the PAC-Car project I found the perfect way to learn mechanical engineering one to one in contact with our industrial partners Tribecraft, Esoro and many others.

My job in the project is mainly the lightweight construction of the chassis and the fuel cell endplates. I also work on the layout of the fuel cell system, lightweight construction of the rear wheel assembly and lots of other small jobs.

Even in project oriented studies there is a life besides the project! As I play Tuba in several bands, play beach volleyball (volleyball trainings and gym in winter) and last but not least want to spend time with friends I also learned to manage time in extreme situations. I had an exciting time...
